About Me

I've been taking photographs since my early teens in the 1980s. As a self-taught photographer, I spent many years shooting analogue and spent a lot of time in the darkroom developing film and prints by hand.

I now appreciate the many advantages of digital photography, but my analog roots still help me to gain a deeper understanding of recording techniques and image processing.

For me, photography always has a meditative aspect, which continually inspires me to experiment. Given the daily flood of images, I see it as a special challenge for photography to stray from the beaten path and continually explore the creative potential of this medium.

This often results in minimalist and abstract-looking photographs in which the original purpose of photography - the depiction of so-called reality - takes a back seat.
